Bridge to Terabithia-Review

Bridge to Terabithia is an older story, so not everyone knows what I`m talking about.

This is Katherine Paterson, the author of the book.

The story is about Jess Aarons, who wants to become the fastest fifth grade runner at Lark Creek Elementary. The new school year is beginning and Jess will be in fifth grade. His family lives on a farm. He lives with his four sisters, two older then him that get whatever they want, most of the time and two younger sisters, one that worships him and one very young. His father is never at home during the day, except on weekends, when he is to tired from the long week to keep one eye open and his mother is always working around the house.

Down the road is another farm, but much worse then the Aaron`s farm. No one moves into that house and stays their for a very long time. One day Jess finds out that a family is moving there.  A girl named Leslie Burkes moved there and her and Jess form a unusual friendship.

This is the cover to the magical book.
The book is so tragic, it will make you cry!

Disney takes this book into an amazing film.

Jess Aarons is played by Josh Hutcherson and Leslie Burkes is played by AnnaSophia Robb.
It is a very touching movie! The movie and the novel are very alike.  I saw the movie first and I just read the book.

I would give the book a 4 out of 5.
I would give the movie a 4 out of 5, as well.
I would give the overall story a 9 out of 10!!

I`m an emotional person, so this story made me sob.

Holes-Book and Movie Review

Holes is both a book and a movie.
The book is by Louis Sachar. Holes is one of my favourite books in the world. The movie is one of my favourite movies. I personally think this story is the best.

I have read this book twice and both times I loved it!
Holes is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats, who gets in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Stanley is at the wrong end of the police court being told he is a thief.
Of course he is not a thief at all.
The judge tells Stanley and his family that he has two choices, go to prison or, since there is an opening, go to Camp Green Lake.
Camp Green Lake is a camp for boys, bad boys. This camp helps you think of how terrible you have been and how what you did was wrong. Stanley of course chooses Camp Green Lake.

I have seen the movie Holes many times.
Holes is a great movie. It is not much different then the book.
The two main characters are Shia LeBeouf as Stanley and Khleo Thomas as "Zero".
All the boys at Camp Green Lake use their nick-names instead of their real names. Stanley`s
nick-name is "Caveman." Everyone thinks Zero is a brainless boy because he never talks, but Stanley would like to know why he never talks. Eventually Stanley becomes Zero`s only friend.

I would give the book Holes a 5 out of 5.

I would give the movie Holes a 4 and a half out of 5.

All together I would give the story about a 9 out of 10 because I absolutely love Holes!!!!

High School Musical 1,2 and 3

There are 3 High School Musical movies.  The cast is: Zac Efron as Troy, Vanessa Hudgens as Gabriella, Ashley Tisdale as Sharpay, Lucas Gabreel as Ryan, Corbin Bleu as Chad and Monique Coleman as Taylor.

The first High School Musical is about Gabriella [the girl with braids, standing in the middle of the picture.] She is new to East High School and she meets Troy [the guy holding a basketball.] Troy is nice to her and shows her around the school. They come across a poster about the talent show on the wall while Troy is showing Gabriella around  and they think about entering, but choose not to since they are busy with other things. Gabriella is a brainiac and is busy practising her classes and Troy is busy with basketball.

The second High School Musical is about their Summer Vacation. Sharpay [the blond girl] hired Troy at her rich parent`s summer club. Instead her parents hire all of her "friends" from school. This makes Sharpay very angry because she wanted to get close to Troy, which she couldn`t do with the basketball team, all of Troy`s friends and most of all.........Gabriella.

The third and final High School Musical is about them graduating. They are having their last musical and it is a big deal. Plus everyone is thinking about.......PROM!!!!!!!
Also everybody is thinking of college. It is a very busy year and it is hard focusing on anything at East High.

I watched the first one when I was 8, so on that point of view I would give the first one 4 and a half out of 5. I would give the second one 4 and a half, too. The third one, I would give a 4. All together, I would give them all a 7 and a half or a 8 out of 10!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since these movies are musicals they have great songs. My favourite song is from the second movie, "Fabulous", sang by Sharpay.

Make sure you watch them all.

Lemonade Mouth-Movie Review

Lemonade Mouth is a Disney movie and premiered recently on the family channel.
Its main characters are: Bridgit Mendler as Olivia, Adam Hicks as Wen, Naomi Scott as Mo,  Hayley Kiyoko as Stella and Blake Michael as Charlie.

I just watched this movie and it was nice. Some parts were funny and then in other parts it had touching, emotional moments. The movie is about five teenagers, [that don`t know each other] meet in detention, which is in the music room. They had to clean up and got bored doing that, so they started drumming, playing the keyboard, strumming their guitars and belting out their voices.

My rating would be a 3 and a half or a 4 out of 5. Overall it was a sweet movie!!

Thanks for looking at my first blog post!
